Products per scan: know what sells and what brings each customer back
You list your products or services once in the dashboard, and your staff pick what the customer bought in the scanner app as they add the stamp. Every visit becomes data: which item leads your sales, and what each regular actually orders.
- On all three plans
- No POS integration needed
- Several items per scan
- Your top 5 items ranked
Products and services are included on all three plans, Connect, Engage and Retain; data-driven review collecting, which uses the product the customer bought, is on Engage and Retain.
Which drink actually brings your cafe customers back?
A stamp counter tells you a customer came back. It does not tell you why. In BTAQA you add your drinks under Products & Services in Settings, each with a name and a price, then drag them into the order your staff should see.
When the card is scanned, staff see the drinks as buttons under "Quick product | service", tap the latte or the espresso, then add the stamp. They can pick more than one item in the same scan. The drink then shows up in your dashboard under "Top Products". One stamp, one complete record.
- A name-and-price list you manage from the dashboard
- One tap in the scanner app before the stamp is added
- A Top Products chart and a Product sales figure in your dashboard
What if you sell a service, like a car wash?
The same list holds services; in the scanner app it is titled "Products | Services". A car wash adds its services the way customers know them: full wash, detailed wash, 4x4 wash, motorcycle wash.
When staff pick the service with each stamp, you see which services keep your bays busy and which few people ask for. Your offers then follow what customers order, not what you assume.
What do staff see when they scan a regular?
The scanner app reads the customer's history and puts the items they bought before at the front of the list, each with a count of how many times it was picked. Staff know the regular's usual before they ask.
That means faster service at the counter, and a new hire who treats a long-time customer like they have known them for years. It works the same way on points cards: staff record the product each time they add points.
How does the recorded product make review requests sharper?
With the automated review request switched on, BTAQA sends it after the visit with the delay you set, and only when staff picked a product during that visit. Put {product} in the message and it is replaced with the name of what the customer bought.
Put simply, you stop asking about the experience in general and ask about the cappuccino they had an hour ago. This is available on Engage and Retain, and only reaches customers who opted in to marketing messages.
What does your dashboard show once sales come in?
Every item your staff pick is saved as its own sales record, with the price at the moment of sale and the customer card it belongs to. Your dashboard builds four views from those records: the Top Products chart, which ranks your five best sellers by how often they were picked, a Today's Revenue stat, a Product sales total for the last 30, 60 or 90 days, and a Revenue Over Time chart.
Next to Product sales you see Estimated revenue, the total of amounts entered at stamping, so you can compare what was recorded as named items with what was recorded as amounts only. When you need the numbers outside the dashboard, Export report downloads a CSV with your visits, revenue and top products.
Because the price is stored with each sale, changing an item's price later does not rewrite past months. Your history stays as it happened.
- Your five best sellers, ranked by times picked
- Product sales for the last 30, 60 or 90 days
- A CSV report in one click
How do barbers, salons and restaurants use it?
At a barbershop the list is short and clear: haircut, beard trim, kids' haircut. A few weeks in, you know which service your regulars ask for and which one needs an offer to get moving.
At a beauty salon, staff pick the manicure and the pedicure together in the same scan, and each one is recorded separately. A restaurant adds its main dishes and learns which one its regulars order most.
The rule is the same for every business: name items the way your customers and staff say them, and put the most requested first. Picking at the counter becomes a tap, not a search.
What happens on points cards, and when you edit your list?
On a points card the item does extra work: BTAQA adds up the prices of the items picked and calculates the points from that total, so staff never type the amount. If they pick no item, they type the price the customer paid.
When you delete an item, it disappears from the scanner app and from your list, but its past sales stay in your reports, because deleting deactivates the item instead of erasing its history. You can change a name or price at any time with the Edit button next to it.
Recording is not limited to the scanner app. On the Customers page of the dashboard, Add Stamp opens a window where you pick the item under Quick Product. And if the list is empty, the account owner sees a button in the scanner app to add products; staff do not.
